July 10 - August 31: Grounds For Sculpture, and exhibiton of scupted works displayed both inside and out on the grounds of FVAC.

September 6, 4- 7 pm- Opening and Awards Reception "Interpretations and Inspirations" Open Juried Show 2008.
Show will be displayed until September 30.

October 6- 31, 4- 7pm- Opening Reception and Awards – Saturday, October 11, “Night Visions”, FVAC Studio Artists Show including ceramics, drawings, jewelry, paintings, mixed media, photography, and more. Show will be displayed until October 31.

November/December

Creativity Workout

Take a break from your everyday stresses and join us the 1st Thursday of every month, 7 – 8:30pm, No pre-registration required, $5 at the door. “Let’s Go” cardholders can bring a friend for free.

September 4

“Creativity in the Garden” with Suzanne Sayers.  Sketch and/or paint your summer plots indicating new plantings and seasonal changes for Fall additions.  You are encouraged to bring photos.  Design or garden experience not necessary.  Just a love for flowers and the seasons.

October 2

“Monotypes from Plate to Paper” with Paula Billups.  Learn the technique of painting on acrylic plates and transferring the image to paper with this printing process.

November 6

“Fright Night” with Matt Ryan.  Cartooning and illustration of monsters and villains in the height of the costume season.

December 4

“Creating Personal Holiday Gifts” (instructor to be announced).  Spend an evening creating jewelry and hand made cards for the holiday.  Well worth the price of admission!

 

2nd Thursday ART Night

Enjoy a Fisher Gallery show and do something different the 2nd Thursday of every month, 5:30 - 8pm. Free event.

September 11

“The Juror’s Perspective.”  The juror led discussion of the selection process for the September Juried Show – Interpretations and Inspirations.

October 9

"Little Wave and Old Swell.”  Conversation and book signing with artist/illustrator Catherine M. Elliott of Simsbury and Jim Ballard, author.  They will talk about collaborating on their book published recently by Simon & Schuster as a fable.  Elliott is a well-known regional artist who paints in the American Impressionist style. Ballard has written a number of inspirational books and has coauthored several popular books along with the bestselling business guru, Ken Blanchard.  Deepak Chopra, author of "Power, Freedom, and Grace" said about Ballard's book: "Little Wave and Old Swell is a classic. It you get its message, you will understand the true meaning of enlightenment and freedom."  Families are encouraged to attend.
