Wednesday Workshop
Impressionism on Canvas en Plein Air with Carolann Dvorak Brewer
The term impressionism was coined as a description because a newspaper critic thought artists were painting mere sketches or impressions. The painting style is characterized chiefly by the general impression produced by a scene or object and the use of unmixed primary colors and small strokes to simulate actual reflected light. En Plein Air refers to painting outdoors in a natural setting. Bring stretched canvas or canvas board to this exciting new workshop that will meet outdoors. Learn the secrets of impressionist painting as you take inspiration from the green surrounds of FVAC, including our popular Artists’ Garden.
